The A-League Final: Melbourne vs. Adelaide

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I even cheered on Theoklitos this evening! But never fear, it's only temporary. I'll be back to normal by 10pm when I watch the replay.

to quote Tiger over at our forum:
"a lot of records will indeed stand for a long time out of that match, including (A-League only)

Highest score by a single team.
Biggest winning margin.
Equal highest total goals.
Most goals by a single player.
Biggest crowd.

Not bad for a GF. Also of note...

First domestic double by a club.
First player of the season/Joe Marston medalist double.
New season tally record for a player (how many did Archie end up with? 14? 15?)"

I imagine you'll be laughing for weeks...you tore them up like a piece of tissue paper. I'm still speechless - what happened to Owens should not happen to anyone in public (the poor thing) and well, what happened to Costanza - period?

Yeah, yeah. Congratulations Melbourne, and Cecilia. Despite my wayward predictions, the win was most deserved.

The really painful thing is that now that the A-League has produced a really brilliant team, it won't be going to Asia. It's so dumb it hurts.

But the A-League's over! What am I going to do with my life? Oh, I suppose I had better focus on uni, eh?

I see Owens as an attacking player rather than defensive. And I suspect he was playing a little below par to keep his recklessness in check. He's prone to stupid fouls, and at least he didn't really do anything drastic in that sense...

I have no sympathy for Aloisi - he was on a yellow, and that challenge/foul/elbow on Brebner was just plain stupid.

I did, however, feel sorry for Costanzo. With Aloisi gone, Adelaide's midfield problems (i.e. they don't have one) were magnified. Ange could only do so much - he still played an excellent game in my opinion. I think his run from winning the ball at the edge of the box he was defending to the other box summed up how he was feeling. Yeah... I'm expressing sympathy to an Adelaide player, but Costanzo's brilliant and perhaps deserves more for his efforts than the nothing he ended up with. He's been outstanding for Adelaide, especially since the New Year, and if they don't honour him at club level I'll get my hands on some flares, go on an away trip and run manic with them, lighting them all over the place.

Actually, I don't want a police record, so Adelaide - please honour Costanzo!!!!

*Rolls eyes* Tell me about it...

Instead we'll be sending the team who cheated their way to the ACL place, was first to get knocked out of the finals and is more unstable than the Hawaiian volcanoes... And we'll also send off a team that just got wallopped 6-0.

Mind you, it seems just as ridiculous to think that we were the worst Australian team if you just look at the ladder...

oops, I actually meant Aloisi, not Costanza - your'e right, Ange run his rag off trying to save some sort of result (Ive done this before- wrote Costanza for Aloisi, I think Aloisi reminds me of george costanza, and my fingers go off with the pixies). You're right about Owens too, played out of position and put in the bunny spot...as for Ange, he's out of contract in April, if they don't promise him the captaincy and a big payrise next year, we'll have him!
Asian refs are going to cane both Sydney and Adelaide.
